Here Are The Not-To-Be-Missed Delights On Africa Magic

Sometimes all you need is a good show to relax after a hard day of work, and Africa Magic has got you covered for the entire week. For the rest of October till the end of the year, you can enjoy authentic African content, from dramas to thrillers, comedies and indigenous content.

These new TV shows will help you escape the realities of work and life dramas, all you have to do is check them out.

Moments: This show follows the life of Kasie Ojukwu and his three best friends. They are at the peak of their careers, juggling life and dealing with childhood traumas, romantic relationships and mental health. Kasie is about to become the youngest partner at his firm and it is all smooth sailing until Marrisa joins the firm and starts to uncover secrets that could jeopardise his goals. The brand-new series premiered on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, and new episodes air every Tuesday at 9 p.m. on  Africa Magic Showcase  (DStv ch. 151 and GOtv ch. 12).  

Love and  Light: This show follows Takedat, the love of his life and his wedding planner sister. When Takedat’s love leaves him at the altar, he swears off weddings. However, a request from his older sister will force him back into the world of wedding photography. Tune in to Africa Magic Showcase every Monday and Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. as he embarks on a heart-wrenching yet hilarious journey of love, laughter, and unexpected moments.

Masquerades of Aniedo: Muna is a young man, burdened with the sins of his village-drunk father. He wants to gain respect in his village, but no one cares for his poverty-stricken family. Amidst this, he is bullied by an elite group of young men he is forbidden to fight against. The last straw comes when his family faces utter disgrace while he tries to propose to the love of his life.  He becomes determined to join the elite Masquerade group and get the respect he deserves. Join him every weekday at 8:00 pm on Africa Magic Showcase to find out if he successfully joins the ‘Otu Mmawu.

Refuge: What would you do if you were lodged in a hotel only to find that people come to die there? Refuge follows a group of people lodged in a hotel for different reasons during the Magbo festival. One accidental death, a couple on the run, and a missing ‘Abobaku’ will lead to chaos no one saw coming. Will the nearly retired DPO successfully save everyone in danger or will the hotel’s owner get away with his murdering spree? Find out every Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv ch. 151 and GOtv ch. 12).

Chronicles: After leading her brother into the lion’s den and getting him almost killed, a young lady must gather the rest of her friends and find a way to get enough money to save him. The four ladies take up the treacherous task of stealing from Chief Odenigbo, a Nigerian Minister,  but this doesn’t go as planned as they get stuck in a church and proceed to take the choir and pastor hostage. Check out the series every Friday at 8:30 p.m. on  Africa Magic Showcase to find out if they ever make it out alive.

Laces: After Sandra has a terrible day, she proceeds to a bar to drink away her sorrows. After a series of unfortunate events lead her to the roadside late at night, she is mistaken for a prostitute. The young man who takes her home for a one-night stand turns out to be her boyfriend’s best friend and coworker. On one hand, her boyfriend, Fola, must never find out. On the other hand, the stranger, Tokunbo, was the best sex she ever had. Tune in to Africa Magic Showcase every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to find out how Sandra handles the mess.

Slum King: The show follows the story of Edafe, who witnessed his parents’ murder at a young age because he forgot to lock their doors at night. Sad events force ambition on him, causing him to detest his lowly status and develop an appetite for power. Trapped in the cycle of guilt and trauma, Edafe journeys from a disturbed tout in the slums to become MAJE, the charismatic king of the slums. The show features Tobi Bakre, Olarotimi  Fakunle, Hermes Iyele, Teniola Aladese, Elvina  Ibru, Idia Aisien, Gideon Okeke, Jidekene Achufusi, Sonia Irabor, and a host of others. The Irabors Forever After: If you love true and genuine love,  you’d love this show that delves into the life of media moguls – Soni and Betty Irabor. They will share insights into the marriage, life and relationship of a couple who have been together for many years. Newlyweds and engaged partners will learn a lot from this show when it premieres on Sunday, November 5, at Africa Magic Showcase by 8 p.m.

Love Bowl: This is a brand new family game show, hosted by Stephanie Coker and Darasimi Nnadi. The show brings mums and their children to experience a rollercoaster of fun and challenges together. They will go against other families as they create unforgettable memories. It is the ultimate family showdown that will entertain you, make you laugh and even bring back some nostalgia every time you tune in on Sundays to Africa Magic Family (DStv ch. 154 and GOtv ch. 2) at 7 pm.

Ripples: Doris, a remarkable young woman inherits a large share of the Dehinde-Phillips fortune. Despite being raised to take the reins as Chief Executive Officer, Doris yearns for something more elusive – freedom. Unfortunately, her dreams end when a dramatic protest against DP Oil, led by the Elders of a Niger Delta Community, erupts. After suffering setbacks in the romance and career department, Doris will have to decide whether or not she’s going to rise to the occasion. Follow Doris’ journey every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase  (DStv ch. 151 and GOtv ch. 12).
