There is tension in the land.

And this development is thanks to maze of uncoordinated frenzy over postponement of the 2015 general elections.

Hazy conjectures, unsubstantiated reports, fallacious permutations, truths mingled with half truths over the development have taken over the scene.

Saturday February 7 2015, news broke on foreign media that the February 14 and 28 general elections was about to be shifted.

And all manners of permutations kicked in, the Federal Government headed by

For the pro PDP elements, Jega for providing such ammunition as ‘service chiefs recommendation’ for the opposition to hold on to, instead of playing up the reason of non readiness of required logistics became a villain overnight.

Stories of how ‘he compromised’ suddenly
emerged, along continuing angles and twists of secret meetings that showed he was ready to help the opposition win became theme songs.

Reports he is about to be sacked for standing on principle of impartiality in some instances and for being biased in others became a back and forth game.

Within twenty four hours of the official postponement of the General elections by six weeks, based on all manners of hazy reports, unsubstantiated allegations and counter accusations the process for an election yet to be held became ‘tainted’.

And the continuing drama is gradually heating up the polity.

Findings reveal an increasing tension, though some are stridently calling for calm as things get more entangled, findings revealed ‘fear of the unknown’ is quietly heightening tension.
