‘’Gunshot Or Not I Have People By My Side’’ Philip Shaibu, Edo Dep Gov Declares After Voting, Reveals Chances Of Victory

Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State has cast his vote.

He cast his vote at a voting unit in the Etsako – West area of Edo State about 10.30 a.m today, September 19, 2020.

Speaking to the media after the after exercising his civic right, the deputy governor who is seeking re-election on a joint ticket with Governor Godwin Obaseki disclosed expressed confidence in a victory.

Reacting to talks of reports of gunshots in certain areas, Shaibu insists that he has the people with him and victory is sure.

‘’Whether there is gunshot or not, I have the people by my side’’ the deputy governor asserted in a live broadcast monitored on television station AIT by societynow.ng.

‘’Ours is a combination of a technocrat politician and grassroots politician’’ he stated.

He also dispelled claims that card readers are allegedly malfunctioning in the stronghold of his opponents.

Deputy Governor Shaibu and Governor Godwin Obaseki are contesting today’s election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) against Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his running mate Audu Ganiyu are flag bearers of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
