Governor Uba Sani, on behalf of the Kaduna State Government, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huawei Technologies Company, Nigeria Limited at Huawei’s office in Beijing, China. Chris Lu, CEO of Huawei Technologies Nigeria Limited, signed on behalf of the company.
The ceremony was witnessed by the President of Nigeria, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, other state governors, ministers, and senior government officials.
The MOU aims to support the SMART CITY PROJECT in Kaduna State, focusing on improving security, efficiency, and transparency in public service, as well as enhancing city management and attracting talents and investments. Its ultimate goal is to establish a safer and smarter Kaduna State.
As a strategic partner of the Kaduna State Government, Huawei will provide comprehensive solutions and technical support in the following areas: State-Level Unified Command Center, Enhanced Security, Intelligent Traffic System, E-Government and Office Automation, Smart Education, Smart Healthcare, ICT Talent, Renewable Energy, and Public Transportation.
The Kaduna State Government and Huawei will establish a joint committee to work on the details of the Implementation Plan, Funding Arrangement, and the Technology to be Deployed to ensure the project is deliverable, sustainable, and valuable.
