Gov Sule, Tuface Idibia Team Up To Campaign For Peace In North Central
to foster peace, dialogue, and tolerance in communities
The Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum and Governor of Nasarawa State, H.E. Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has reaffimed his commitment to peace building.
He made the statement when he received at the Governor’s Lodge Asokoro, Abuja, Nigerian music legend and philanthropist, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, alongside his wife, Hon. Natasha Irobosa Osawaru Idibia, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly; who shared the vision of their peacebuilding initiative.
During the meeting, 2Baba as known as Tuface Idibia, who also serves as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, unveiled plans to launch a campaign titled Music Against Violence under the banner of the United North-Central for Peace Promotion (UNCPP).
The project, he explained, is designed to foster peace, dialogue, and tolerance in communities, with Nasarawa State chosen as the host of its maiden edition.
The peace initiative will bring together youths from the six North Central States and the Federal Capital Territory through music concerts, public awareness campaigns, and humanitarian outreach. According to the promoters, the UNCPP aims to harness the unifying power of music to inspire young people, discourage violence, and build bridges of understanding across the region.
