Gov Oyetola Lives His Horror In Osun State, Why His Pleas For Help Should Be – Urgently -Heeded
Charles Oyelesi
The number of established cases of Coronavirus in Osun State is on the increase.
From no case last week, Osun state is grappling with 14 cases within a week, leapfrogging Oyo and Ogun States who announced established cases before Osun State recorded any.
Ogun State has four cases to its name while Oyo is battling 8 cases including Governor Seyi Makinde.
Osun state is the poorest state in the South West and Governor Gboyega Oyetola has been making desperate pleas for donations to enable him to set up a worthy health structure to prepare for the fight against the highly infectious Coronavirus before there were any recorded cases.
” The governor is currently living what he fears most as the state records 14 cases with no adequate health structure to battle the situation…we are not talking foodstuff to alleviate the suffering of the people, we are talking much needed medical equipment and facilities or funds to put them in place” a source pointed out.
Osun is located in such a way that what affects it, in terms of a scourge like Coronavirus, impacts directly on all the South-West States -except Lagos that it does not share Immediate border with.
And the ripple effect can be felt in other parts of the country, particularly the north, through Kwara State which shares boundary with Osun State.

” It is very vital that Oyetola’pleas for help is heeded in order for the unattended situation in his state not to make nonsense of the keep safe efforts of the other states if the situation overwhelms him and his people, and things get out of hand” societynow.ng learned.
