Gists: When Guests Went Into The “Jungle” For Unveiling Of GUS 12

And everybody got more than they bargained for when the top of one of the female dancers malfunctioned

On Sunday, September 26, 2021, the Nigerian Breweries took guests into the “Jungle” to pleasure in the event labeled “The Unveiling”.

Societynow.ng captured the moments in bits and pieces.

…Gulder First,..And Others Things Follow.
The event was a case of Gulder first..and all other things followed.

On each table, there were more than enough of Gulder for everyone.

Gulder was offered first to guests. Guilder was first served. Gulder was served after the meal – and of course, there was the Nigerian Breweries mantra to guide the guests…Drink Responsibly. And nobody was under 18years old.

Gulder was in abundance in cans and bottles across the tables.

But a slight consideration was made for prospective Gulder drinkers still holding on to other tastes – water, Farouz, and Malt were given.

…Walk Through Hall of Fame
On arrival at the Eko Hotel and Suite’s Convention Centre the venue of the event, all guests walked through greatness.

The greatness of the past editions of the Gulder Ultimate Search is showcased by the pictures of all those who overcame all the odds to become a winner.

They had their pictures enlarged, beautifully framed, and lined on either side of the walkway to the frontage of the hall.

… And Into The Jungle.
The venue was jungle-themed. Dark, just enough light to see your way around. “Trees”, and related effects. This ambiance was aided by the gothic decorations adopted. There were even lanterns and candles. It gave guests the pleasurable aura of what the about to be unveiled contestants of the latest edition of Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS 12) were in for

…All Guests Were VIP
All guests were very important personalities at “The Unveiling” of the latest Ultimate Search Contestants. Guests chose seats of choice. Mingled freely, took refreshments, and relish in all that was on offer without any restriction of this is for this or that class of people.

…Continuing The Fight Against Covid-19
The organizers took efforts to let guests bear in mind that the fight against Covid-19 is real and continuing. There was a passionate insistence on the use of face masks. The rule was no “No Face Mask, No Entry”. They ensured “sanitizers’’ were applied at entry points and the seating arrangement was such that a table that should cater for ten catered for just five people – with more than enough space for movements in between.

…Peek at “B..Bs”.
“Dance Na The Main Thing” thrilled guests with their performances. And everybody got more than they bargained for when the top of one of the female dancers malfunctioned. Out popped “two succulents ones’ of one of the five ladies but the victim was all professional as she deftly “covered’ and tucked the “offending beauties” back. She didn’t let the threat of a reoccurrence affect her stagecraft as it should with colleagues providing cover by limiting her “vigorous” activities on stage.

The Invitation Symbolized What To Expect
The invitation was gothic-styled. It symbolized what the event turned out to be.

…About The Host
The Host of the event was Gideon Okeke. Gideon is one of the winners of the Gulder Ultimate Search.

He won the 10th edition of the famous reality show. Okeke got married in April 2019.

…The Task Master
The Task Master for the new edition of Gulder Ultimate Search tagged “The Age Of Craftsmanship” is Kunle Remi.

Kunle Remi is the winner of the 7th edition of Gulder Ultimate Search.

A graduate of the New York Film Academy. Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi is an actor like Gideon.

His job as the Task Master of the GUS 12 is self-explanatory – set the tasks for contestants.

…Prelude to unveiling the Contestants
Before the unveiling of the contestants for the “Age Of Craftsmanship” at the “The Unveiling” yesterday, another winner from past editions was given a chance to shine.

Dominic Mudabia had a session with Host, Gideon Okeke on stage and shared a flashback of his experience as a contestant.

The winner of the 2007 edition of Gulder Ultimate Search revealed he is now married (to Tope Akinmade) and has a fantastic boy to show for it.

….Two In One Celebration
Sunday’s event was not just the unveiling of the GUS 12 contestants but also that of an “enhanced – in taste and shape – Gulder”. And every table had more than enough of the new offering from Nigerian Breweries after it was unveiled by the Managing Director Hans Essaadi – represented by Director Martin Kochi.

…Meet The First Man To Taste The “New Gulder”
In the hall, at Sunday’s “The Unveiling” the first man to taste the new Gulder was Martin Kochi.

Kochi is the director supply chain at Nigerian Breweries plc.

What To Know About The “Enhanced Gulder”
According to a revelation by Sade Morgan, the Corporate Affairs Director at “The Unveiling”. The new Gulder is “specially crafted Gulder” and “ refined to deliver supreme sense stimulating taste experience”. (Caveat: Since beer is in the taste, the best way for drinkers and nondrinkers to confirm is to delight in a bottle or two to attest this revelation).

…Why GUS Came Back After 7yrs
The last edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) was held in 2014. Why is the 12th edition coming 7years after?. It is due to popular demand. Fans and related stakeholders pressure NBL to bring back the reality show that defines youth empowerment and inspires wit, grit, and resilience in achieving set targets according to Director Morgan.

…Fire Works For A Special Drink Without “Dorime” & “Casket”.
There was a deserving “fireworks” when the new Gulder was unveiled by Director Martin Kochi. It was a spectacular spectacle from 8 points. But there was no “Dorime” to it.

Dorime is the song that heralds big money buy of drinks at clubs. The song by ERA is actually Ameno from the album Dorime (which was released in 2017). The big money drinks are always served in caskets carried by an “undertaker” accompanied – not in all cases – by some girls at clubs.

The new Gulder was served in a more deserving carrier – a chest, which symbolized how much a treasure it is.

…The Visibly Invisible Ushers
There were ushers. Just a handful. Nothing sexy just a hint of it for those versed in the art of “looking”. They are not in your face. They just appear when you need things. And the elegant simplicity of the whole event was such that, guests had everything they needed right at hand.

…The Immediate Gains For Contestants of The GUS 12.
With the intangible benefits in terms of exposure and related value inestimable at present, the immediate gains for the participants are N50million which include N20million cash, a brand new Sports Utility Vehicle, and other prizes for the winner while the other participants will be rewarded with varying cash prizes.

…How To Key Into The Excitement
The audience can luxuriate on all that goes down in the jungle of the GUS 12 on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv channel 151), Africa Magic Urban (DStv channel 153), and Africa Magic Family (DStv channel 154 & GOtv channel 2) on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 pm till 9 pm.

There will be repeat broadcasts during the week and lots of behind the scene came things as well.

..Meet The Contestants

The online application for the show – because of Covid-19 – had over 200 successful applicants. 40 people were shortlisted and later pruned to 20. A “tighter check” produced 18 contestants.

16 of the 18 contestants were unveiled on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
