Gbenga Daniel, Amosun Break New Tradition
The latest “fast friends” in town
The latest “fast friends” in town, Senator Gbenga Daniel and former Governor Ibikunle have broken their new tradition.
One was without the other on a major occasion with plenty of common friends.
Daniel, also a former two-term governor of Ogun state was at the Thanksgiving service signposting the 90th birthday and 64th anniversary of one the most respected traditional rulers in Nigeria, Oba Sikiru Adetona – the “Awujale of Ijebu land” on Sunday, May 5, 2024 without Amosun by his side.
Since the two powerful politicians merged interests and went public with their “renewed friendship” last year, they have attended events together – especially the ones with plenty of common friends like the Awujale’s.
They usually sit side by side at outings since they adopted the joint appearance approach.
Gbenga Daniel, the Senator representing Ogun East has unrelentingly showcased the joint appearances on his social media handles.
Senator Daniel’s attendance at Awujale’s twin celebration without Amosun particularly caught attention because the celebrant is a “Royal Father” they are both “close’ to.
The Thanksgiving service was held at the Cathedral Church of our Saviour, Ijebu-Ode.
Among high profile persons at the occasion were Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu land Sonny Kuku and Sifax group’s owner and chairman Taiwo Afolabi.
