Gbemi Saraki’s Last Minute Defection To APC Rattles Kwara PDP, As Bola Shagaya’s Hope Of Keeping Promise To Deliver State For PDP In Exchange For Govt Patronage Dims

All things being equal, the hopes of government contractor and politician, Bola Shagaya of delivering Kwara state for the People’s Democratic Party is dimmed.

One of the major structures that gave her ambition a glimmer of hope has pulled out.

Gbemi, daughter of the late strong man of kwara politics, Oloye Olusola Saraki has merged forces with her brother, Senator Bukola Saraki to ensure the All Progressives Congress have a landslide victory.

The former Governor is the leader of APC, the party in control of the state government.

Gbemi’s defection to the APC puts the political structure of the late Oloye Saraki firmly in control of former governor Saraki.

An occurrence that is said to be giving PDP leaders and followers horror thoughts based on looming defeats.

Information sourced about town indicate Gbemi movement out of PDP based on long running battle over influence and control with Bola Shagaya, the government contractor with ears of wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan.

Based on strong ties with the First lady, Shagaya is said to have painted a picture of a firm grip on the politics of kwara that defamed the person of Gbemi and whittled her influence.

Based on laudatory promises of impending victory, Shagaya cornered juicy contracts with her new found influence and used the opportunity to position her son as Federal House of Representatives contestant.

But against all expectations one of the major structure of her speculative success just collapsed.

Gbemi and her brother Senator Bukola Saraki began a crisis resolution process that has seen them merge forces together to achieve a common goal.

Senator Bukola Saraki had backed incumbent Governor Abdulafatah Ahmed against the ambition of Gbemi back then.

But they appear to have put aside past differences to achieve a common goal- quell threats against their family political strength as represented by the antic of Bola Shagaya.
