Emerging details have it that a political intrigue that is edging out Kabiru Gaya, the Director-General of the presidential campaign of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is unfolding.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje ,72, is clinically reducing the influences of Gaya including propping up a more loyal party man to take over the seat of the Senator representing Kano South.

Gaya, 69, who had a brief stint as the Governor of Kano State – January 1992 to November 1993 – has been in the Senate since 2007.

He was appointed as the Director-General of the Osinbajo presidential campaign in April in direct conflict with the interest of Governor Ganduje – a strong advocate of the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tinubu, a major contributor to the formation and enabler of the All Progressives Congress (APC) becoming the ruling party in 2015 is Osinbajo’s political leader.

SocietyNow.Ng learned it was the tussle for political supremacy between Gaya and Ganduje that saw the two popular kano politicians towing different paths in the race to determine the Presidential candidate of the APC for the 2023 election.

“And Ganduje is hard at work to ensure he not only delivers the votes of Kano delegates to Tinubu at the APC presidential but shows who is in charge in Kano by denying Gaya the ticket to any elective position for the 2023 election” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The APC Presidential primary for the 2023 election is fixed for May 31, 2022.
