Fugitive Senator Elect, Kashamu Buruji Placed On 24hrs Surveillance As NDLEA Calls of 6days House Arrest Siege

Information filtering in indicate agents of anti drug agency, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency finally bowed to court orders and vacated the residence of fugitive Senator Elect, Kashamu Buruji.

The NDLEA operatives had cordoned off the Lagos residence of the embattled politician with intent to arrest him for extradition purposes on Saturday May 23 2015.

The business man turned politician is a wanted man in the United States of America on drug charges.

A United States Court had declared him and international fugitive and according to the NDLEA requested for his extradition to face charges.

The controversial person of interest however created a stalemate when he scampered into his bedroom and locked himself up in the bid to arrest him.

And for six days stayed put corresponding with families, lawyers and arresting agents through the window of his bedroom for the six days the siege lasted.

He eventually used the manoeuvre to secure legal leeway to reprieve by leveraging on the operational lapses of the arresting Agency as regards paper work that backs the operation to bring him in.

Kashamu’s lawyers had leveraged on operational lapses of the NDLEA when it acted out of script by failing to get him to court, produce arrest warrant for invasion of his home amidst other’s to get the court to call off moves to arrest their client.

The Agency is said to have gone back to the drawing board to rework how to walk the fine lines of statutory provisions it failed to adhere to that snatched Kashamu from its claws.
