Flamboyant Thisday Publisher, Nduka Obaigbena Barred From Travelling Abroad Over Unresolved N670m Security Fund Mess!

Attempts by flamboyant publisher, Nduka Obaigbena to undertake a trip abroad earlier in the week was blocked by anti corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission sources claim.

The trend setter in his sphere of influence as an unresolved case with the anti graft agency.

His travel plans were scuttled based on this premise sources claim.

Obaigbena, the publisher daily newspaper hurriedly gaining lost grounds as a publication
to be contended with by the new administration in charge of the federal government is accused of sharing in the infamous diversion of security funds now infamously reffer to as Dasuki Funds.

Obaigbena, the President of the Newspapers Proprietor Association of Nigeria is alleged of receiving N670m from the office of the National Security Adviser with Sambo Dasuki incharge.

Dasuki now undergoing trial was at the centre of the distribution of security funds to ensure re election of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The ”clandestine deal” was perfected at a period the military was outpaced in weapon by insurgent group Boko Haram and grappling to contain the group gleeful making mince meat of it’s effort with superior fire power.

However unlike others identified as beneficiaries of the fund, Obaigbena wriggled out of EFCC detention by pulling his weight, putting his extensive contacts and influence into play, and ultimately signing an agreement to refund the fund.

This was after his claims that the fund he received was compesation for the bombing of his office by Boko Haram as well as seizure of his copies of his newspaper at a time were rejected by the agency.

The dandy had reportedly paid a part of the money with understanding to pay the rest within a earmarked time.

Fresh information revealed he is yet to fulfil the pledge weeks beyond the scheduled time and attempted to travel out of the country in the face of this outstanding.

”That is why he was blocked from travelling…the leadership of the agency beliefs he has started taken the issue at stake with undue levity, stopping him from traveling is meant to force him to face reality that his movements remain restricted until he has sorted out his case with the agency” a source provided insight.
