Explaining his role in the emergence of Nkeiru Onyejeocha as a Ministerial nominee, Orji Kalu stated” When I did not contest for Senate President, the Federal Government of Nigeria wanted me to be Minister but I respected my friend and brother, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Tinubu and I asked him to put anybody of his choice and he put Nkeiru Onyejeocha, I support that ministerial appointment, I support his choice because, Tinubu can not be wrong.”

The Senator who is serving a second term in office further disclosed that “And we will work with her. She is my ally, I never campaigned against her, I never destablized her. And i want her to come and let us build a new APC.”

Explaining steps taken so far to show support for the ministerial nominee, the former Governor of Abia state revealed that ” The three of us -Myself , Abaribe (Eyinnaya) and Darlington Nwokocha-three of us Senators (from Abia state), we have already signed a letter to the Senate President confirming her in advance. Moreover, she is a very senior member of the House of Representatives. So she will take a bow and go.”

Onyejocha, 53, is a multiple-termed member of the Federal House of Representatives from Abia state.

Senator Orji Kalu made the revelations in a video posted on his social media page.
