Family Troubles Over Late Sister, Bimpe Shorinolu’s Death Cast Shadow Over Ayo Fayose’s Guber Declaration
…former gov accused of abandoning deceased, refusal to pay hospital bills
It appears, it is not all glorious with the upcoming declaration of gubernatorial interest of Mr Ayodele Fayose.
Sources confirmed the development scheduled to be on Friday April 5 3013 in Ekiti state has a tainted shadow over it.
A raging family feud is threatening the official take off of the fresh attempt by the former governor to return to power on a clean footing.
Insiders revealed siblings of the former governor (Isaac and Emmanuel) are at war with him, over the treatment he meted out to one of the family member- their sister, the late Bimpe Shorinolu.
The People’s Democratic Party returnee is accused of abandoning his late sister in the ‘hours of need’ on the sick bed- and even in death.
According to a source ‘ the crust of the matter is that Ayo Fayose is said to have refused to contribute to the treatment of Bimpe when she was alive, even when his brothers and their mother and other concerned parties pleaded with him to lend a hand financially, he refused….and after she died, he has refused to help offset the incurred hospital bills as well…leaving her immediate dependants struggling to pay off the debts in piece meal’
Information made available to societynowng.com revealed – family members led by his brothers Isaac and Emmanuel are now up in arms with him over the issue.
The fight is said to have escalated since the death of Bimpe – and taken a twist for the worse with news hitting town of the former governor’s intent to kick start his gubernatorial campaign.
Disclosed another insider ‘ the feeling that has heightened the disharmony is that, he has money to expend on politicians and political projects to achieve his personal ambition when he could refuse to care for his sister on her sick bed- or help her dependants with outstanding bills in the failed attempt to keep her alive’
Further digs revealed news of this raging family feud has seeped out- and gradually adopting different shapes and coloration.
Sources on ground in Ekiti state claimed oppositions have started using it as a campaign tool to show the electorates the kind of ‘ character’ aspiring to rule the state again.
This is said to be against the background of more campaigns that, Fayose’s term as Governor ended in an impromptu scampering out of town by the then Governor Fayose to evade arrest – with an ongoing case of corruption and abuse of office while in power against him by anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as the fallout.
It is however instructive to note that while the late Bimpe was credited with greatly helping his brother, Ayo Fayose via the media to attain office and in the early days of his regime – they fell out in very acrimonious circumstances before he was midway into his regime and she was diagnosed with Cancer, the killer disease that later claimed her life.
