Eye Witness Tells What Went Down At Lagos Party Petrol Was Gifted As Souvenirs

An eye witness has revealed what went down at the Lagos party where petrol was shared as gifts.

The event was the reception for the installation of Pearl Chidinma Ogbolu as Erelu Okin of Orile Kemta.

It was held at Havilah Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The venue has been shut down by the Lagos State Government for safety reasons over the development.

Ogbolu gifted about five litres of petrol in different containers to guests but has apologized for the “indiscretion” in the face of widespread criticism and investigations launched by the Lagos State Government and the state police command.

An eye witness who was at the event provided insight into how the petrol as souvenirs shared with the explanation that

“They were tightly covered firstly. Nobody was allowed to smoke in the hall too.” and stated further “They were brought in to be shared. Not that they were kept there (the hall) for long (before and after sharing)” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

The “celebrant” later stated that her intention “was just to show appreciation to my guests for turning up at my event at these hard times.” but admitted “I have paused to reflect and truly apologize ” in the face of public backlash.

The public backlash is primarily hinged on scary thoughts of what could have happened if there was a spark of fire at the gathering.
