Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola has doled controversial brand new cars to all council chairmen in Osun state.

Societynow.ng confirmed the cars are being delivered to the offices of the Local Government Chairman.

The automobiles Aregbesola ordered given to all the council heads are the same brand.

“The brand is the Toyota Camry popularly known as Muscle on the street” a source stated.

Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng that the chairmen would actually pay for the gifts from the Governor.

“The costs would be deducted from their allocations” a source disclosed to societynow.ng.

Informants claim the “Greek gifts” have started causing conflicts in and out of the political circle in Osun state.

Outside of politics, a larger percentage of the populace are miffed that the Governor doling out brand new cars to council chairmen when workers are owed salaries.

Within the political circle, the Governor is facing growing criticism for trying playing politics with the state fund, attempts to use council funds to buy chairmen’s support with Greek gifts.

“This is not to talk of the emerging talks of behind the scene deal in the acquisition of the cars as part of last minute deals” a source pointed out.
