Information filtering in have it former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole is considering abandoning his gubernatorial ambition.

Sources claim this development is in interest of a possible move to the Senate.

Informants disclosed Bankole is keen to return to ”government circles”.

And is currently based his consideration on reality a Senatorial ambition is a ”smaller” project to prosecute than a gubernatorial ambition.

And he believes based on increasing ”popularity” brought about by underground gubernatorial camapign diverting his state wide resources to executing a Senatorial ambition gives in improved chances at success.

Along with the added advantage of becoming the ”toast” of other gubernatorial aspirants in and out of his party seeking support of his personal platforms once he dropped out of the tightly packed race.

Interestingly, the particular Senatorial slot Dimeji Bankole is interested in is the cause of raging fight between Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Senator Lanre Tejuosho.

Tejuosho the Senator representing Ogun is looking at returing for a second term in office, but out going governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun after two term is looking at making the Senate is next political destination.

Both Governor Amosun and Senator Tejuosho are from the same Senatorial Constituency – and same political party, All Progressives Congress.

While former Speaker Bankole is from rival political party, People’s Democratic Party – he is from the same Senatorial Constituency as the APC duo.

According to sources, though Governor Amosun retains the APC structure in the state, Tejuosho has vowed to fight tooth and nail to go for a second term in office.

Opinions are divided on how successful the Senator would be in face of fierce interest in his seat by the outgoing governor.

Insiders disclosed the gains of a house divided against itself for the ambition of Bankole are part of the ongoing calculation in the camp of the former House of Representatives Speaker in favour of a senatatorial move.

”He is not totally abandoning his guber ambition, the new plot is that, once in the Senate he can use the position to put in place proper structure for his governorship aspiration in a couple of years time” a source disclosed.
