Immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Dame Patience have reconciled with Seriake Dickson, the governor they threw all into the fight to unseat while they held sway at the helms of affairs of the nation.

Sources divulged the Jonathans recanted in the war against the governor of Bayelsa state to prevent opposition party that unseated them from the throne of presidency- All Progressives Congress- to take over the affairs at their home front.

Bayelsa state is the home of former President Goodluck Jonathan and currently has party man, Seriake Dickson at the helms of affairs.

Interestingly the place had played host to a host of political crisis over ceaseless attempts by Dame Patience riding on the clout of her husband while they held sway at the presidency to unseat the governor for ‘disrespect and snubbing her’ inputs in matters of governance.
The emergence of a preferred candidate, the then special adviser to the President on Domestic Matters, Waripamowei Dudafa to give Dickson a run for his money in bid to frustrate picking up the PDP ticket for re election had heightened the crisis.

Waripamowei was reportedly armed with campaign funds to unsettle Dickson and overshadow him as popular candidate for next governor.

The loss of Jonathan’s re election bid changed the whole ball game.

The PDP experiencing major loss of face as APC decimated the states in its grip quickly rallied round Dickson for his re election attempt.

Especially against the background of intense accusations that Dame Patience greatly contributed to the party heavy losses at in the election that unseated her husband as president with incessant and uninformed interferences’ in party affairs.

Societynowng.com learnt facing contention from a party now at the helms of affairs of the Federal Government, the Jonathans have now chosen to put aside their much publicised differences and join ranks with Governor Dickson in his re election campaign.

According to a source ‘the decider actually is the fact that if they do now join hands with Dickson and continue their fight, they will fragment the strength of PDP in the state and give an easy ride for the APC to take over the state….and that would certainly come out worse for all…retaining Dickson is supporting PDP to retain the state any other thing is giving the state to opposition’

Insiders revealed that those that tended to the reconciliation impressed it on the former president and his wife that the PDP stands a better chance of retaining Bayelsa with a sitting governor and that should APC take the state it would result a personal shame for the former president.

Governor Dickson is reportedly billed to make his re election declaration on that day- and former President Goodluck Jonathan, his wife Dame Patience and other PDP big wigs in and out of the state are billed to attend in a move aimed at sending a strong message to the opposition that Bayesla state remains in the strong grip of the party come what may.
