Ex Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi Eyes Kwara Guber Seat
…begins underground consultation
Ex minister, Bolaji Abdullahi has an ambition.
The very staunch supporter of senator Bukola Saraki wants to be the Governor of Kwara state.
Insiders revealed he has already started underground moves to achieve his aim.
What is however not clear is when he intends to actualise his ambition- during the upcoming 2015 elections or the next.
Incidentally, re election seeking incumbent, AbdulFatah Ahmed draws political strength and patronage from the same source as Abdullahi- from Senator Bukola Saraki.
The former Kwara Governor fought his late father, Oloye Olusola Saraki – and the candidature of his sister, Gbemi – to a standstill to enthrone abdulfatah as Governor.
He also negotiated the appointment of Abdullahi as Sports Minister when he abandoned his Presidential ambition for President Goodluck Jonathan.
Senator Saraki remains the political leader and godfather of both Governor Abdulafatah and guber aspirant, Bolaji Abdullahi.
Both towed Senator Saraki path to move from the PDP (peoples Democratic Party) to APC (All Progressives Congress).
While the re – election seeking incumbent has initiated public support gathering campaign and stories of endorsement hitting the streets, the former minister is said to be working underground trying to get firm commitment from key party men before he comes to town.
An insider divulged ‘whether Abdullahi waits for Abdulfatah to go for second term or not is dependent on very readable body language from their patrons and grave commitments from other stakeholders’
Watchers of events are said to be keen on events turn out.
