Ex Gov Suswam Ordered To Return State Property Acquired While In Office

Former Governor Gabriel Suswam has been ordered to return state property he acquired while office.

The acquisition currently serves as guest house of the former number one citizen of Benue state.

Details this development came up in this trending report which reads…Former Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam, has been stripped of a property belonging to the state but alleged to have been fraudulently acquired by him while he was the governor.
The State Executive Council(EXCO) in a letter addressed to Suswam informed him about the revocation of a land title of a government guest house, the immediate past governor alleged to have fraudulently awarded to himself while he was in office.

The said property, Atom Kpera Lodge located at No. GP.415, Makurdi, has been serving as the former governor’s guest house since he left office.

The EXCO said it discovered that the purchase of the said property was fraudulent, and there were fundamental irregularities in the process that led to the transaction, which amounts to abuse of power, and a notice of revocation be served on Suswam.

The ex-governor is to deliver the vacant possession of the said property to the office of the head of service, civil service secretariat makurdi, without further Notice.

The letter reads in part: ” This is to inform you that Benue State Executive Council on 11/ 11/ 2015, deliberated on the purchase on the said property ( Atom Kpera Lodge) and discovered that, there was fundamental irregularities in the process that led to the transaction, which amount to abuse of power, and approved that notice of revocation on you through my office.

“Take notice that on the strength of the foregoing, the sub-lease to you by Benue State Government of Atom Kpera lodge,No. GP.415, Makurdi is hereby revoked and you are to deliver the vacant possession of the said property to my office ( HOS) without further notice.”
