Monday 21 march 2016, former House of Representatives Member, Abiodun Akinlade staged a career revamping birthday celebration.

The People’s Democratic Party chieftain was 49 years old and signposted the occasion with an empowerment move aimed at endearing him to his people.

Sources claimed the man who stepped down for Gboyega Nasir Isiaka to become the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the last election doled out five hundred grinding machines to people of his locality.
He also used the opportunity to commission a block of class room he funded at St Paul Angilican Primary School, Owod Yewa, Ogun state.

And had party chieftains and friends from far and wide where on hand to give testimonies of his ‘’good character’’.

But while the likes of party mouth piece, Segun Sowunmi, kola Sorionola and the likes took centre stage, once upon a time extraordinary close pal and former state legislator Adjat Adeleye turned fringe player.

‘’She didn’t even get a chair to seat on’’ a source stated.

Ironically as a serving Ogun state lawmaker, Adijat was behind the rise of Akinlade to media prominence – and increased acceptance beyond his zone within his party.

Their rapport was so much that they were labelled an item.

But all that appeared changed with what played out at the three term Federal House of Representatives member’s 49th birthday celebration meant to revamp his political career.

The event held at FIIR Agro centre, Owode Yewa, Ogun state.

According to snippets here and there, Akinlade is eyeing the Senatorial slot of his zone.

The birthday celebration cum empowerment programme is meant to subtle re launch him- and begin ground preparation for his ambition.

The former federal lawmaker had gone off the scene after he lost his last elective bid.

The latest move is meant to bring him back to people’s mind and herald in other under the wraps activities that would sustain him and enhance his image till he openly declares his next move.
