Former Bank Managing Director and investor in financial institution, Enterprise Bank- Lady Joy Udensi is engaged in a bitter fight at present.

Her combatants are people addressed as her in- laws, the family of her late husband – Lord Dike Udensi.

The immediate cause of the raging battle is identified as a Two hundred and fifty million naira (N250m) burial budget for the late money man.

The family reportedly drew up the budget- and intend to utilise funds from the deceased estate to execute the budget.

Sources claim the former Managing Director of defunct Citizens International Bank- which merged with Spring bank and is now a part of Enterprise bank- is kicking against the estimated burial fund… tagging it, another attempt to siphon money from the late Lord Udensi’s estate, by the family.

And to forestall such occurrence – she is said to have instructed the management of Enterprise bank to ‘freeze’ a N500m deposit Lord Udensi has with the financial institution.

Lady Udensi reportedly utilised influence as a stakeholder with the bank to perfect the move.

The former banker and her husband’s family, including the first wife, Eunice and other children, have been engulfed in a bitter feud since the late man of means passed on about eight months ago.

The crust of the battle centres around control of the estate that include a beer factory that is now on lease to Guinness Breweries, properties in the UK, US, Togo, Benin Republic, Lagos and Aba- and investments in blue chip companies here and there.

The ‘family’ want control based on stance that when he was alive and chairman of Citizen International Bank, the late Lord Udense made Joy the Managing Director and created and perfected many business opportunities for her. The deceased reportedly also built a beautiful story building for her parents in Imo state. They claimed she had benefited more than any other. A claim the former bank boss is challenging.

The fight for control got so messy at a point that, petitions were written against each other by the factions that ‘the late Lord Udensi was killed because of his estate’.

The traditional ruler of the deceased’ home town, Enachioken of Abiriba HRII Ezekalu Ogab reportedly waded into the matter and withdrew petition and counter petition from the office of the Inspector General of Police- that the matter would be resolved ‘as a family matter’.

But recent discord and growing squabbles over the drawn up burial budget of N250m by the ‘family’ appear to be making hope of a amicable resolution of the crisis a mirage.
