Embattled Super Cop Abba Kyari Suspended
The court handling Hushpuppi’s trial issued an order for the arrest of Kyari, a Deputy Commissioner of Police
Abba Kyari, the commander of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has been suspended from office.
The decision was taken by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali to allow for proper investigation into the weighty allegation against the senior police officer dubbed super cop for his documented exploits.
Kyari is accused of being a partaker in the criminal enterprise of Hushpuppi (Ramoni Abbas Olohunwa) who has admitted guilt in an ongoing trial in the United States of America.
The court handling Hushpuppi’s trial issued an order for the arrest of Kyari, a Deputy Commissioner of Police based on the weight of the allegations.
The Inspector-General of Police’s suspension of Kyari is to allow proper review of the allegations against him.
A Special Investigation Panel (SIP) has been given the task according to the commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, who is the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force.
The move is based on a request for Kyari to be handed over by the United States of America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as part of a larger investigation into Hushpuppi and his syndicate.
