Embattled Iyiola Omisore Restricts Movements To “Ife – Abuja, Abuja – Ife” Route As He Battles To Put Out Embers Of Arms Deal Investigation & Other Troubles

Details filtering in to societynowng.com have it embattled politician and socialite Otunba Iyiola Omisore has greatly restricted his movements.

The once upon a time Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is now said to majorly shuttle between Ife, his political base in Osun state and Abuja.

Sources who should know claimed that the move is entirely centred on attempts to douse the embers of investigations by anti corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that earned him the tag ‘’wanted man’’ at a time.
Though he stridently denied the allegations – and even went to court against the agency, the EFCC had emphatically claimed the former deputy governor of Osun state one of the beneficiaries of the mega arms deal that saw huge funds meant for military operations diverted for political purposes.

Omisore was eventually arrested after a public face off with EFCC on the pages of newspapers and social media platforms and clamped into detention.

He was reportedly released on bail after alleged agreement to cooperate with investigators handling the case against him.

The money at stake was disclosed as N700m.

Sources claimed Omisore opted to stay put in his political base after perfecting his temporary freedom to focus on the case – and also deal with emerging political issues that wrested control of People’s Democratic Party in the state from him.

”Staying in Ife gives him battle for his political relevance, arrest the slipping dominance afflicting him…his visits to Abuja pertains to same as well as entertain scheduled visits to investigators handling his case with EFCC” a source claimed.

Societynowng.com however gathered the embattled politician occasionally makes sneak visits to lagos.

”But that is a rarity” a source stated.

It is believed Omisore, a highly recognised prince of Ife is equally engaged in intense underground conflicts with Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwunsi the new traditional ruler that occupies the throne exited by the former deputy governor’s ardent backer and major ally, Ooni Okunade Sijuade.

The new occupier of highly respected throne of Ife is said to have emerged against the wishes of the troubled Senator.

”There are speculations his stay in Ife as to do with retain traditional relevance as well…keep sympathies of those who share is sentiments in affairs of ife strong and remain their rallying point” a source divulged.
