When communities buy transformers in areas that the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) is in charge of, they have to write a letter indicating the distribution company provided it before it is energized.
“A subtle but forceful takeover of the communities transformers if you properly interpret it” a source pointed out.
This is against the background of multiple assertions by Minister for Power Babatunde Fashola that the provision of transformers for electricity consumers remains the responsibility of Electricity distribution companies.
