…details of leadership tussle with lieutenant, Oluomo

The agents of anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission are after Transport Boss, Rafiu Akanni Olohunwa.

This development is part of investigations of a N4B fraud level against the Lagos Transport chief.

The Chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) is alleged to have siphoned N4b from the accounts of the transport body.

The money was diverted from the proceeds of the BRT bus ownership and administration arrangement between the NURTW and Lagos State Government.

Sources claimed that Olohunwa with the connivance of yet to be named individuals diverted the quoted amount without the knowledge of the Treasurer of the association, Musiliu Akinsanya widely known as M.C Oluomo.

The Treasurer and former head of the Oshodi unit of the association was said to have stumbled on the discovery three months after the deed was done.

He was said to have raised alarm- subsequent investigation into the matter is said to be the bedrock of the succession crisis rocking the NURTW.

Findings revealed that stakeholders had documented the fraud and others and petitioned the E.F.C.

The agency was said to have invited both Olohunwa for questioning on the case on Thursday November 17 2 11

Akinsanya was invited as well to come and explain his role as Treasurer of the association

Oluomo reportedly spent the whole of the day at the commissions office- he was let off in the evening.

His boss shunned the invitation- he is still dodging the agency against the background of threats of arrest if he refuses to show up this week.

Investigations conducted by www.societynowng.com revealed that Olohunwa refusal to appear before the E.F.C.C is not unconnected with his inability to get the go ahead to appear from patron of the association in Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Akanni’s emergence as NURTW boss was facilitated by the former governor- Olohunwa was a former Senior Special Assistant in his government.

Informants however claimed that he has since behaved in manner that has chipped away his popularity with the heavy weight politician when he assumed office.

One of his major ‘sins’ boycotting overtly supporting the Gov Fashola againt Tinubu and behaving in a manner to hinged his re election on the influence of Fashola.

Asiwaju Tinubu appeared to have tactfully shy away from him.

The word on the street is that MC Oluomo is the new favourite of the heavy weight politician.

With stories of a house in chevron estate, plots of Land in millionaires haven-Banana Island, and wonder cars in his garage, his popularity within the association against the background of the N4B fraud allegation is also on the wane by the day.
