Done Deal…Obaseki Secures APC Ticket For 2nd Term In Deal That Saves Oshiomhole

Barring any unexpected twist, Governor of Edo State Godwin Obaseki is assured of retaining the ticket of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress in his re-election bid.

Societynow.ng gathered that this development is part of the political negotiation that is edging away opposition to Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the ruling party.

Insiders disclosed that the fiery oppositions that merged against Oshiomhole have refused to embrace any form of truce with the embattled chairman and his backers except Obaseki is assured of retaining the party’s gubernatorial ticket in Edo state in the coming election.

‘’This has been agreed to in principle as Oshiomhole explores means of making peace with his political adversaries based on the advice from President Muhammadu Buhari and machination of  Asiwaju Bola Tinubu ’’ societynow.ng learned.

This development forces Oshiomhole who has vowed Obaseki would not secure a second term on the bill of the party to eat the humble pie as he tries to keep his seat and prevent the party from imploding in the face of massive opposition against his person and the interests he represents.
