Diamond, Wema Banks Shut Down Operations, Throw Customers Into Confusion As Gov Ibikunle Amosun Abruptly Declares State Wide Holiday!
Customers of financial institution, Diamond and Wema banks operating in Ogun state are in state of confusion- and serious lamentation.
And the reason for this is simple- the banks have abruptly shut down their operations in the state.
This development is attributed to an eleventh hour decision by state Governor Ibikunle Amsoun to declare a state wide work free day.
The governor reportedly communicated the decision to state workers sector leaders yesterday night.

Findings by societynowng.com revealed President Muhammadu Buhari arrived ogun state via Ijebu Ode for a 2day official visit around 6.00p.m yesterday – Monday February 1 2016.
The visit is to sign post Ogun state’s 40 anniversary.
The decision for a state wide work free day was reportedly communicated after the president played guest at the palace of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

Many workers and parents missed the announcement, especially teachers.
School children and teachers turned up at locked public schools today.
Same for Judiciary workers and those with cases to tend in courts.
Even some civil servants at some ministries suffered the same fate.

Same for lawyers and their clients and other stake holders outside premises of courts.
Diamond and Wema Banks’ branches in in the state equally locked their gates on customers.
‘I was at the Ota branch..I wanted to do an ATM transaction they didn’t allow me in..I saw many customers at the gate refused entry also’ a source divulged.
Another source in Abeokuta the state capital revealed ‘Weman bank near Central Bank office didn’t open it’s doors for customers too..lots of people were there..they just locked customers outside’
Further revelations have it that Diamond bank in Car wash area of Abeokuta equally shut it’s doors on customers.
‘It is really annoying..no earlier notice, nothing they just disrupted customers’ planned transactions..what about people who needed to pay urgent medical bills, make deadline payments on life changing deals and such things..it is really bad’ a source surmised.
Additional digs by societynowng.com revealed pleas by some customers for special consideration as a result of the dire purpose(s) of their planned transaction fell on deaf ears.
But contrary to the attitude of these two banks, sources confirmed Zenith and Guaranty Trust banks are currently catering to the needs of customers in the state.
”I was forced to go to G.T Bank Ashero to do by transaction..but what about those who can only use Diamond and Wema for what they plan to do?’ A source stated in rhetoric.
Sources on ground confirmed that G.T in bank Ashero and Zenith Bank located in Oke Ilewo are examples of some of the leading financial institutions branches currently providing much needed services in the state
Summing up the situation a source stated ‘fine the bulk of the blame is on the goverment for abrupt work free day announcement but banking services is not something you just cut off from customers like that…a lot rides on it, especially with all this talks about the economy being unusual..the management of those banks ought to know that..I can’t just imagine how they have disrupted people’s lives with this action’
