Portable, the singer renowned for his many self-induced controversies, is building his first house in his base.

Witnesses revealed that the property is located in the Oke-Osa area of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, not far from his popular Odogwu base in the same vicinity.

Oke-Osa lies just outside the more prominent Ilogbo town, where the singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, spent much of his life sharing an apartment with his married sister before achieving stardom.

The new house is described as a single-storey building with no fewer than four blocks of flats.

“Basic construction is complete, and the carpenters are currently installing the framework for the roof,” according to sources familiar with the project.

“As of Monday evening (January 13, 2025), workers had already begun fixing the roof, focusing on the wooden framework,” a source provided a specific update.

Additional details indicate the property is located by the roadside. In typical fashion, Portable has been very open about owning the ongoing construction project.

“The apartment he currently resides in is rented and not far from the project site. This is his first property in the area outside of his Odogwu bar,” insiders disclosed.

Portable, who rose to fame with the hit single Zazuu Zeh in late 2022, has maintained his relevance through a mix of music and controversy. Notable incidents include spanking a preacher at his Odogwu Bar and a public fallout with an ex-wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
