Shehu Sani, the former Senator from Kaduna state has thrown weight behind the Edo State Government for putting a stop to any attempt to stage a “Sultan of Shuwa Arab” coronation.
The government halted the planned ceremony and issued a strong warning against the move which attracted widespread controversy.
Sani, a former Senator labeled the action of the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki as “right” in a social media post that reads
“The ‘Sultan of Shuwa Arab’ in Edo is a concocted title with no historical genetic root or basis anywhere.
“Nowadays, people frame all sorts of absurd and sometimes comical traditional tittles for themselves.The Edo State Government action is right.”
