Alcoholic drinks in sachets popularly called by the street names Pelebe or Tiny have gotten an end date.

The Director-General of the National Agency for Food Drug Administration Mojisola Adeyeye disclosed that the ban on the production of Pelebeor Tini will come into effect on 2023/2024.

According to Adeyeye the alcoholic drink would be phased out by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.

The agency is taking the drastic step to curb the excesses associated with the easy access to alcoholic drinks especially by drivers and in the face of a surge in abuse of alcohol and drug by young people.
