Details: Okada & Tricycle Riders Take Over Dapo Abiodun’s Job

Commercial motorcyclists more popularly known as “Okada Riders” have taken over the role of Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun in a vital space.

They now manage a key link road between Lagos and Ogun states.

The stretch of road which is known as “Bible College road” serves as the access between the two states by the defunct Gateway hotel not far from the old toll gate in Ota Ogun State.

Societynow.ng gathered while Lagos state under the administration of Akinwunmi Ambode had tarred the roads within its domain right to the boundary with Ogun state, the reverse is the within the territory of the state governed by Dapo Abiodun.

The Ogun state side of the access road is not tarred and is decorated with “rivers and valleys and wells of portholes” until a couple of days ago.

The information at hand revealed that the commercial motorcycles and their tricycles counterparts joined hands to alleviate the suffering of the public.

“The Okada and Tricycle riders joined hands and graded the road. They collected money from everybody operating on the road including some of the commercial buses and private cars that plied the road during this period” Societynow.ng learned.

The information available revealed that the transporters took this step while the renovation work on the old Lagos / Abeokuta road that the road serves as bye-pass from is ongoing.

“While you enjoy a smooth ride within the Lagos territory, it is not so within the Ogun state space and it was even worse until recently” societynow.ng learned.
