The hotel – Ojugbele – is named after him.

Societynow.ng findings revealed Basorun Ojugbele is one of the biggest players in the real estate business.

‘’Basorun Ojugbele is old money. Well, established old money’’ societynow.ng learned.

Multiple sources confirmed that Basorun Ojugbele owns landed property in Lagos and Ogun state.

‘’Basorun would be 84years old in June. He lavishly celebrated his 80th birthday in 2015’’ a source stated.

Basorun Ojugbele is a member of the Eko Club, Lagos Island Club, and others societynow.ng learned.

Wealthy and very connected, Basorun Ojugbele is said to own about 80% of land in the famous Lagos Aluminum Village (Dopemu) and a chunk of the land in Santos Layout (Dopemu).

A well-known socialite in the 80s and 90s, sources confirmed Ojugbele was the toast of musicians such as King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey.
Sources disclosed Ojugbele Hotel is one of his many business interests in the Hospitality Industry in the days he was very much up and about.

Those who should know exonerate him from what Ojugbele has now become.

Societynow.ng learned until a couple of years ago, the management of the hotel was left in the hands of Rotimi, one of the sons of Basorun Ojugbele.

Insiders disclosed that Rotimi who is now the Vice Chairman of Ado/Odo Ota Local Government handed the Hotel to a yet to be identified individual to manage.

‘’I used to visit the place when Rotimi was there, it wasn’t as bad as it presently is’’ a source disclosed to societynow.ng.

Multiple sources – and societynow.ng checks revealed – confirmed that the situation at Ojugbele has degenerated to point that morals have been thrown to the dogs within its host community as the teenage prostitutes ravage the area, influence and corrupt the children in the locality.

Societynow.ng learned the situation is compounded with the insecurity springing up in the area as the teen prostitutes attract shady characters from far and near to Ojugbele Hotel and its environment.

The investigation conducted by societynow.ng revealed that victims of this growing menace fear nothing can be done to redeem the situation because the location of Ojugbele Hotel falls under the administration of the local council where Rotimi, the son of the owner – Basorun Lamina Ojugbele – holds the position of Vice Chairman.

Ojugbele Hotel is located in Paapa area, of Sango Hotel and is just a working distance from the more popular Oju Ore junction.
