Details As Ogun Workers Demand Lockdown Relief Packages From Gov Dapo Abiodun

Workers in Ogun State have written to Governor Dapo Abiodun to include them in the list of those that should benefit from relief packages been handed out by the State Government to alleviate the pain of the suffering inflicted by the lockdown aimed at stopping the spread of Coronavirus.

The request was made through a press statement signed by the chairman of the Labour Congress in Ogun State Comrade Emmanuel Bankole and acting Secretary Olatunji Ayuba.

The statement which claimed that the workers “face astronomical increase in the prices of basic food items” suggested that “government in the days ahead should evolve appropriate stimulus package for its workforce…”

This development comes in the face of the government’s struggle to make an impact with the relief packages while battling a storm of criticism over alleged poor handling of the distribution.
