The Information filtering in has it that Minister for Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio has vowed that National Chairman of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress Adams Oshimhole must be booted out of office.

And the former governor of Akwa Ibom state is said to be passionately working towards this development societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that after the National Executive Council meeting attempt to remove Oshiomhole from the office that turned into a disgrace for Akpabio, the minister’s anger against the party chairman as transformed into full-blown fury.

Oshimhole got Akpabio and his followers thrown out of the NEC meeting by security operatives in full glare of everybody present.

The party chairman went a step further by ensuring Akpabio’s co- plotters had no say at the meeting.

Akpabio teamed up with Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki – said to have bankrolled the plot – in the ill-fated move.

Societynow.ng gathered that after the ‘’public disgrace’’ removing Oshiomohole had transformed an obsession with Akpabio and the minister is said to have become extremely thick with Governor Obaseki in the bid.

Insiders disclosed Akpabio is passionately providing behind the scene cover for the governor who has set about decimating the influences and clout of Oshiomhole in Edo state.

‘’Akpabio is providing and sourcing for support against Oshiomhole at the national level, within the government and party, while Obaseki goes about portraying the party chairman as without any political influence in the state’’ societynow.ng learned.

The botched ceremony to welcome Pastor Eze Iyamu from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress is fingered as one of the paint Oshiomhole as ‘’without clout’’ in Edo state.

Insiders insist that Akpabio is so passionate about getting Oshiomhole out of the office of party chairman that he has become the unofficial – and official – rallying point against the chairman in and out of the party.

Oshiomhole and Obaseki are in intense rivalry over the control of the government and politics of Edo state while the party chairman’s war with Akpabio was sparked off over who determines what in the affairs of the Niger Delta, especially the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
