Adebayo Adelabu, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the recently held Oyo state gubernatorial election is still in a state of shock over his defeat.

‘’He didn’t believe he would lose that election’’ a source stated emphatically to societynow.ng.

Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank lost the Oyo state gubernatorial election to his main rival Seyi Makinde.

Adelabu lost despite the belief in many quarters the election was his to win.

The former Central Bank Deputy Governor went into the contest with strong backing from the ruling party – and outgoing governor Abiola Ajimobi – but the support was obviously not enough to help him realize the ambition of becoming the next governor of Oyo state.

Sources disclosed that still dazed from the electoral loss, Adelabu has cut off communication from his litany of aides and supporters.

‘’He does not pick calls again, he is obviously still battling from the shock’’ a societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng gathered the defeated gubernatorial candidate has also drastically cut down on his public appearances.

‘’he is nowhere to be seen. There are unconfirmed talks he might have travelled out of the state to clear his thoughts and strategize on the way forward’’ societynow.ng learned.

The added information available to societynow.ng revealed that Adelabu is particularly embittered and feeling betrayed that party men, especially those that contested the APC gubernatorial ticket in Oyo state with him did not do enough to help him win.

There are talks his main backers within the APC have kick-started a campaign to help him secure a ministerial appointment to compensate for the efforts expended and huge expenses incurred in the ill-fated attempt to become the Governor of Oyo state
