Information milling around indicates the former governor of Bayelsa State Timipre Sylva is scheming to be the minister in charge of Petroleum ministry.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to constitute his cabinet as soon as the ministerial screening exercise by the senate is concluded.

Silva is among the 43 ministerial nominees forwarded to the upper chamber of the national assembly for screening.

Even with the screening exercise underway former governor Sylva is said to have already have his eye on the ministry formerly headed by Ibe Kachikwu.

The former governor’s move is coming well ahead the eventual allocation of portfolios by the president.

His men are all over the place with different slants propagating why he the right man for to occupy the ministry of petroleum, our findings revealed.

They have gone as far as labelling him a Buharist and a senior one for that matter from his Ijaw region, societynow.ng understands.

Checks also revealed his handlers are dishing out all sort of information flattering his contribution to the oil sector during his days as a government appointee during the reign of former ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party.

Sylva’s administration as Governor of Bayelsa State was shortlived – between May 29 2007 and April 15 2008 – as result of a tribunal judgment that nullified his election.

A new election was held on may 24, 2008.

Mr Timipre Sylva won and subsequently sworn in.

He ruled the oil rich state again between May 27, 2008 and January 27, 2012.
