The Chief Executive Officer at Best Of Bollywood, Seun Oloketuyi has initiated steps to stop actors from begging the public for funds to take care of their health problems.

Oloketuyi made this known on the clarion call which reads..

Over the last decade, I have asked myself when Nollywood practitioners and veterans stop having to resort to public solicitation for their health challenges.

Sadly in that space of time, the situation has, rather than stopped, increased to the extent that many practitioners have now seen it as their entitlement from Nigerians and government officials
As someone who has joined in initiatives to raise funds for their treatment and seen many raise money even for burial of colleagues, I believe the time to end this is now. I think we must bring decency and respect to the industry.

Professionals in other areas also fall sick on daily basis but we never see anyone send broadcasts asking for help.
After a long soul searching and asking questions around, we believe the key to this things stopping is insurance and partitioners coming to the realisation that their bodies need proper pampering and care without which they are bound to breakdown. For an industry with over 10,000 practitioners getting insurance companies to do a package that will make members pay cheap should not be difficult.

It is also time for the Association of Movie Producers and Directors Guild of Nigeria to consider holding an insurance policy as part requirements for casting actors.

To end this menace and create a viable working scheme that works, Best of Nollywood is putting together a town house meeting in July where all stakeholders can come together and find a workable solution. We shall be providing more information as the days goes by .
