Details available to societynow.ng have that Governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun is about to have a taste of his own medicine on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

This development is in the face of an intense campaign for a protest vote against the Governor by his co-party men loyal to former governor Olusegun Osoba.

Amosun is contesting as a candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Ogun Central Senatorial District on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

But the outgoing governor of Ogun state is intensely working against the emergence of his party’s gubernatorial candidate Dapo Abiodun as a successor.

Amosun is backing Adekunle Akinlade, the candidate of rival Allied People’s Movement to become the next governor of Ogun state.

Available information revealed that Amosun’s hard stance against his party’s gubernatorial candidate for the Saturday, March 2 Governorship election resulted in the disgrace suffered by the APC leaders at the Presidential campaign staged in Ogun state on Monday, February 11, 2019.

The show of shame saw President Muhammadu Buhari caught in the stoning protest targeted at Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC leaders believed to be working against the interest of Governor Amosun.

Multiple sources confirmed that the stoning protest was carried out by loyalists of Amosun seriously backing the agenda to make Akinlade next governor of Ogun state.

The investigation conducted by societynow.ng confirmed that though the party has announced an intention to make a decision on the disgraceful incident after the election, party men loyal to Osoba and others not happy with Amosun in Ogun state have decided to take their fate in their hands.

‘’they are plotting a protest vote against Amosun on Saturday. And they are seriously campaigning for all party men to obey the clarion call based on the premise that a loss in the Senatorial contest would provide fertile ground for the party to sanction the governor after the general election’’ societynow.ng learned.

‘’A loss would show he is all noise and no electoral substance using the power of the position of governor to forcefully have his way’’ a source analyzed.
