Details As Akwa Ibom Prepares To Host First Annual Boat Regatta & Fishing Festival

In line with the Tourism Policy Thrust of the ARISE Agenda, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is organizing the first ever Annual Ibom Boat Regatta And Fishing Festival.

The event is scheduled to take place on September 27, 2024 at the Marina Beach, Nwaniba by 2pm as part of activities to commemorate the 2024 World Tourism Day Celebrations in Akwa Ibom State.

There will be prizes for the winners and consolation prizes for others.

Side events include unveiling of the restored slave boat and slave memorial park, cultural displays and tug-of-war.

The Festival will help stimulate the economic activities and strengthen the bond of friendship and inter-connectivity amongst coastal communities. It will also attract tourists and investors to the Beach communities. Participation is strictly by invitation.

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno will be the Special Guest of Honour.
