Familiar foes, Solomon Adeola and Segun Adewale are set to do battle again.

The two political adversaries were combatants in the 2011 when the less visible Adeola declared winner over the more popular Adewale in the battle to represent Alimosho Federal constituencies in the Federal House of Representatives.

Adeola, who spent two term as state legislator when on to become the Chairman House of Representatives Committee on public accounts- and according to informants leveraged on the position to increased wealth.

Backed with the clout his mentor, the Aiwaju Bola Tinubu favourite attempted to financially musce his way into the politics of Ogun state to perfect ground work for emergence as future governor

But Incumbent Governor, Ibikunle Amosun seeking to establish a political lineage of his own, repulsed the move.

And the man now more popular with his childhood appellation and political groups identity, Yayi sought and won party ticket to actualise his senatorial ambition in Lagos West.

In doing this, he defeated ex minister Demola Seriki.

A development said to be caused a bit of bad blood between Asiwaju Tinubu and Demola Seriki.

Sources claimed the arrangement was that the All Progressives Congress Lagos West Senatorial ticket was supposed to be a ‘compensation of sort’ to Seriki for ‘contribution towards party development’.

But Tinubu’s favourite expected to seek re- election back to the House of Representatives waltzed into the picture and snatched victory.

Though he might have defeated Seriki for his party’s ticket for the senatorial position – Yayi faces a worthy opponent in Aeroland ( the street name for Segun Adewale) the more popular candidate he piped to his present position during the general election.

Adewale is the People’s Democratic Party for Lagos West Senatorial seat.

Sources confirmed Adewale comes to the contest wiser to the ploy of Adeola and his backers against the backdrop of the 2011 House of Representatives Defeat.

Added another source ‘what makes the upcoming contest more interesting is that Adewale was formerly a member of the Asiwaju Tinubu political family..he defected to the opposing camp over imposition that threatened his political ambition….the outcome will determine whether he took the right decision or not’
