Customs Warns Applicants Against Fake Appointment Letters Circulating Online
describing them as the handiwork of fraudsters.
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has cautioned the public, particularly applicants in its ongoing recruitment exercise, to disregard fake appointment letters currently circulating online, describing them as the handiwork of fraudsters.
In a statement issued today, the Service clarified that it is not issuing appointment letters at this stage of the recruitment process.
According to the NCS, the exercise is still at the examination stage, with the Superintendent Cadre recently concluding its Computer-Based Test (CBT) across the six geopolitical zones, while the Inspector and Customs Assistant Cadres have just completed their own online tests.
The Service warned that the fake documents being circulated are attempts by scammers to mislead unsuspecting applicants and urged candidates to remain vigilant.
It further advised members of the public to desist from sharing unverified claims and to rely only on authentic updates from official NCS information channels.
The Customs Service reiterated its commitment to a transparent and merit-driven recruitment process, assuring applicants that successful candidates would be duly informed through official means at the appropriate stage.
