Customs Sponsors Teachers’ Development Programme

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Kaduna Area Command, led by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller of Customs, Sa’ad Hassan, has sponsored a teachers’ development programme in Kabala Community as part of the command’s commitment to supporting education and community development.

The programme, themed “Empowering Home Teachers, Enriching Classrooms, Transforming Learning Outcomes,” took place on 21 August 2026 and brought together teachers, parents, Customs officers, and other education stakeholders.

The intervention focused on modern teaching methods, effective classroom management and learner-centred instruction, equipping participants with practical skills to improve classroom delivery, home training and learning outcomes.

Speaking at the programme, Comptroller Hassan said the sponsorship reflected the command’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting initiatives that can improve the quality of teaching and learning.

“Education is the foundation for building strong families and a productive society. This sponsorship is part of our commitment to giving back to the community and supporting initiatives that can improve the quality of teaching and learning,” he said.

The CAC urged participants to apply what they learned during the training and share it with others to expand the initiative’s impact and improve educational outcomes for children.

Participants described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that the training would strengthen their capacity to address teaching challenges and promote improved learning outcomes.

The initiative is expected to support selected schools and families in the community, and participants called for its continuation and expansion to reach more teachers and learners.
