COS Lagbaja Tells Main Objective Of Civil-Military Coordination Projects

The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja has stated that the main objective of Civil Military Coordination Projects around the country is to complement the already existing basic services, amenities and infrastructure in the communities.

The COAS made this declaration at the commissioning and official handover ceremony of the newly built block of 4 Classrooms, one Staff room, Installation of Borehole and provision of 60 chairs and tables for students and staff of Ikare Grammar School, Ikare Akoko LGA Ondo State executed by the Nigerian Army through their illustrious son Maj Gen Lukman Omoniyi.

The COAS represented by the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen Bamidele Alabi stated that the NA embarked on this project with the sole aim of providing succor to the people in areas of their needs and to further strengthen the relationships in these communities as well as provide support to serving senior NA officers.

In his welcoming remarks, the facilitator and project executor Maj Gen Lukman Omoniyi thanked the COAS for finding him worthy to benefit from this laudable idea and urged the school to make good use of the classrooms . He admonished them to ensure proper maintenance so as to serve the purpose it was built in the first place. It will be recalled that Maj Gen Lukman Omoniyi is an alumnus of the school.

In attendance includes – the Chief of Civil Military Coordination Army Maj Gen NC Ugbo, Head of Service Ondo State, Commissioner of Education Ondo State, Royal fathers as well as students of the school.

The high points of the programme includes- planting of trees, exchange of souvenir and group photograph.
