+the truth behind his death rumour

Contrary to rumour about town societynowng.com can reveal, Club Owner Akeem Shodehinde’s heath is improving.

And that the closure of his night club, Movida has nothing to do with his death rumour or a worsening health.

‘Rather he is getting better by the day’ maintained a source

The decision to shutdown his fun spot was reportedly effected a week before his death rumour hit town.

The celebrated night club operator forced off the scene due to ill health was rumoured dead in the night of Saturday February 23 overnight Sunday 24 2013.

The speculation proved false.

Mr Shodehinde, said to be on the mend, was reported to be at home ‘resting’- when rumour of his death spread like wild fire.

What sparked off the untoward rumour is yet to be confirmed- but sources revealed it spread based on the fact that it was ‘dropped’ on a night.

Insiders revealed that the rumour was so thick and made so believable that administrators of two night clubs, Aura and Auto Lounge observed a minute silence each for the ‘supposed departed’ soul.

Digs revealed fellow club owner, Frank Okamigbo of Club Papas at the Place Lekki phase 1 reversed the trend.

He delegated one of his aides D.J Jackson to Mr Shodehinde’s home to confirmed the rumour- the effort revealed it as false and an announcement was made according.

Insiders revealed the fact that Mr Shodehinde had stayed off the scene for over 7months, with different conjectures trailing the state of his being helped fuel the death rumour.

Insiders however expressed surprise at the death rumour with the explanation ‘it is surprising that, it is now that he is getting better that such story is making the round…it is shocking…I wonder what the rumour mongers would say 3- 4 months ago if they had the chance to see him’

Two of his aides caring for him at his Lekki home confirmed the assertion.

Further digs on the closure of Movida revealed that the move was made based on the inability of Akeem’s younger brother Sherrif and cousin Tonye to successful replicate the success of the incapacitated club boss.

According to a source ‘they weren’t making money- the business was starting to run at a loss…without the presence of Akeem to overturn the trend, there was no other choice’

Part of the factors that mitigated against the duo and their crew were refusal of credit facilities by suppliers and inability to effect payments of debits- moves that were formerly child’s play based on Mr Shodehinde’s towering personality.

Sources further confirmed that the closure would be in effect till Mr Shodehinde properly regains his health.

A time frame that is still inestimable at press time, though sources close to him maintain he is getting better.
