…Celebrated fun spot shutdown, signage removed
The raging battle between estranged partners, Charles Ahize and Ladi Akindele has taken yet another twist.
This is despite the fact Ladi Akindele was ordered to be remanded in prison custody over allegation giving a N15m dude cheque to Ahize- and proving not bail worthy by shunning police invitation and resisting arrest.
The directive given by a Igbosere magistrate court stipulated that he be detained till January 21- the date of the next hearing of the case.
He spent Christmas at Kirirkiri Prisons.
But if fresh rumour floating about town turned fact- he may not spend new year in prison.
Whispers here and there claimed he had secured his release- some even claimed to have spotted him in town.
Societynowng.com couldn’t confirm the veracity of this assertion at press time.
Clinical followers of events are taking the claim lightly- Ladi, the outcast son of Ibadan billionaire is a widely acknowledged master of disinformation
Especially as concerns the leadership tussle rocking Chrome night club.
Some of his past antics include- claiming credit for closing down for renovation, when he was kicked out over debts by Ahize.
Informing the police he had paid off the debts- after his partner had sent him packing for issuing a bounced cheque and writing a spurious petition of threats to life and police harassment after he shunning police invitation and resisting arrest.
The dude cheque and petition ploy provided fertile ground for his present incarceration.
Some believed his release rumour another engineered tale to safe face by creating diverse talks on whether he spent new year day in prison or not.
Investigations conducted revealed his estranged partner, Charles Ahize, the leader of pan igbo group- Obigbo is out of the country.
He reportedly jetted to Paris the day after Akindele was remanded in Prison custody.
He is yet to be back.
Sources confirmed that before he travelled out- placed the celebrated fun spot under lock and key.
He also ensured the removal of the signage bearing the name Chrome.
His intentions about the property when he returns are not clear yet.
Meanwhile informants confirmed on his first night in Prison, Akindele ensured the circulation of a text message informing friends and fans that Chrome has moved from it’s Adetokunbo Ademola site- that a new location and reopening date will be communicated.
The manner the raging fight of influence over control of business will take with these new developments remain to be seen in the new year.
