“Bury Your Dead Without Any Entertainment Within Two Weeks Or!” Sanwo-Olu Tells Lagos Residents In Bid To Decongest Morgues

The mortuaries in Lagos State are filled and brimming with dead bodies.
This development as a result of the inability of bereaved families to bury their dead – since the fight against Covid-19 started.

Lagos state has been on lockdown – restriction of movements, except for those on essential duties – for a month.

n a major move to free up the dead rooms in the state, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered families of the dead to claim the corpses in the morgue for burial within two weeks.

The guidelines for the burials are that the solemn ceremonies should be conducted without any form of entertainment and attendance should be no more than twenty persons, all wearing face masks which are now compulsory in Lagos State.

Governor Sanwo-Olu who has been getting accolades for the Lagos State government’s approach to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic disclosed all corpses that are not claimed by within the two-weeks window would be given mass burial by the state.
