Balmoral Hall Undergoes Reconstruct-ion To Meet City People Awards’ May 1 New Date

Disrupted awards ceremony – due to fire incident on Sunday Mach 27, 2011- now has a new date.

The event tagged City People Awards and aimed at recognising excellence in various fields of endeavours has being rescheduled to Sunday May 1 2011.

According to information available to www.societynowng.com the rescheduled event will hold at the same venue it disrupted- Balmoral Hall.

And to achieve this new agenda the owners of the razed down venue are said to have kick started a round the clock reconstruction work at Oregun, Lagos site of the event centre.

Workmen officially began restoration efforts at the place on Tuesday 29 2011.

According to a staffer at City People Media Group, the initiator of the award ceremony ‘May 1 is the new date and we have confirmation that the venue will be ready by then’

City People Awards’ is annual event that attracts glitterati from far and award.

This year’s edition was underway when a fire from a yet to be ascertained source disrupted it and razed the venue to the ground.

No life was lost and no major injury was reportedly sustained by guests in the incident.
