There is a raging fierce underground battle in the ranks of All Progressives Congress chieftains from Ekiti state.

And at the heart of this development are two main combatants Babafemi Ojudu and Opeyemi Bamidele.

Information made available to societynowng.com revealed the bone of contention as who takes over the seat of embattled governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose.

The governor operating under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party who trounced the All Progressives Party structure in the state in recently held general election faces

growing threats of impeachment emboldened by the APC’s winning of the Presidential election.

Despite validation of his mandate by the supreme court, the controversial state head man who suddenly found himself without the backing of the federal government is currently engaged in a cat and mouth game of clinging to his seat with 19 APC lawmakers exploring ways to unseat him before may 29 hand over.

Should he survive political onslaught against him till May 29, Governor Fayose hopes to secure respite with a new state House of Assembly filled with 99% of his party men.

Digs by societynowng.com revealed that Ekiti PDP Chieftains Babafemi Ojudu and Opeyemi Bamidele are at each other in the hope Governor Fayose does not survive.

Insiders revealed the duo are intensely lobbying other party men to achieve their aim- and equally engaged in acts that limits the chances of each other.

They both stand accused of leaking information that diminished the standing and takes away from the goodwill of each other from to supporters and party leaders.

Additional information made available to societynowng.com revealed why the duo passionately tear at each other, another player is quietly playing the spoiler against them.

The individual is unveiled as John Kayode Fayemi, the man Fayose defeated to assume office.

The former governor lost his seat largely due to the political exploit of Opeyemi Bamidele.

Bamidele had defected to the labour party to contest against him and ended up forming an alliance with incumbent Fayose to defeat Fayemi before returning to the APC.

Though Ojudu unlike Bamidele did not decamp to another party but is disclosed to have opposed Fayemi’s re election within the party.

‘based on this background, Fayemi would rather support another candidate to replace Fayose….or if possible, offer himself for re election again’ a source stated.

More digs by societynowng.com however revealed for another scenario is playing out within the ranks of the 19 Lawmakers threatening to impeach Governor Fayose.

A N250m donation by Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola to help them ‘weather’ the hardship of Fayose withholding their monetary dues is said to be causing great disaffection.

Information filtering in revealed ‘“14 of the APC lawmakers who are committed to the impeachment project
were to get N8 million each while Omirin was supposed to be given N15
million.

“However, only N2 million was given to each of the lawmakers while Omirin got N5 million and tongues are now wagging as to how the balance of N227 million was spent,”

The allegation that the facilitator of the fund short changed the embattled lawmakers is said to be causing a bit of uproar and disenchantment, especially with disclosure one of the possible beneficiaries of their impeachment move, Ojudu is labelled culprit.

Disclosed a source ‘behind all the impeachment and counter impeachment moves and stalling antics of Governor Fayose with his public apology and peace calls….the lawmakers have started seeking ways to get their outstanding
entitlements and severance allowance before their tenure ends in June’

‘they are trying to play safe and not get caught out….people are going about mobilising for funds they don’t get in their name….and many assume these monies get to them..so all these things are not to their favour if Fayose outwits them, especially because they failed to secure re election…so rather than gamble, they are looking for a middle ground that would protect their interest as well’

Sources however revealed even if Fayose survives the impeachment plot, the raging fight between Ojudu and Opeyemi is far from over.

According to a source ‘ for them, the battle for the next governor of Ekiti has started and they have started laying the foundation that would come to bear in the nearest future’
