Attempts At Boosting Akpabio’s Importance Punctured!

The ruling All Progressives Congress made no pretense that the defection of Senator Godswill Akpabio from the rival People’s Democratic Party is a big deal according to societynow.ng’s findings.

There was so much noise and wild celebration about it that many wondered whether the development was the sole requirement for the party to retain control of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

However, attempt to play up the importance of Senator Akpabio by claiming his life at risk has been punctured societynow.ng can confirm.

The Nigeria Police Force in a recently released communication says there is no such thing.

News had gone viral that mysterious armed men stormed the country home of Senator Akpabio.

The armed men were alleged to have shot sporadically at his country home located on Ikot Ntuen, Ukana in Essien Udim, Local Government area of Akwa Ibom state.

The Police, however, claim that the truth is far from the bandied story.

Official information, available to societynow.ng, has it that armed men on motorcycles struck at a petrol station not too far from Akpabio’s residence.

The bandits reportedly disposed of attendants and customers of money and other valuables.

Police intervention reportedly forced the robbers to shoot into the air as they made their escape.

The statement signed by Akwa Ibom state Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon urged the public to disregard “false information in circulation” about an attack on Akapbio.

The statement categorically stated “there was no attack on the person or residence of Senator Godswill Akpabio(CON) and no one was hurt in the neighbourhood, It was purely an armed robbery incident which was aborted by the timely intervention of the police”.
